When trying to decide what to name my teaching blog, I asked my family and friends, posted on facebook, and searched for hours, but nothing really stuck with me. I am pretty picky about names. I had my dog's name picked out years before I actually got him. I wanted something simple, but I also wanted it to reflect me.
Over the summer, I came across Cara's Blog. Her love for teaching really inspired me to work harder as a teacher and really love what I am doing. Cara really helped me want to get back into the classroom and make a difference. Don't get me wrong, I have always loved teaching, but every teacher goes through those moments where you get a little tired. After i found Cara's blog, I had all these new ideas that I wanted to try. It made me excited to get back in my classroom and even more excited to start my new blog!
Through other teaching blogs, I renewed my love for teaching. That is where the "teaching with love" came from in my blog name. If you know me, or have seen me teach, you know that one of my other loves are SHOES :) My first graders always remember my shoes. If they can remember what shoes you wore, they can remember what you taught them ,IF its interesting. (And my shoes are ALWAYS interesting)
With all of that rolled together, I came up with Teaching with Love...in Heels. I think its me. It may not be super cute, but it fits, and I am excited to start sharing with the world what my students accomplish. I am also excited to show other teachers and soon to be teachers that you can make learning fun for the students, but also for you!
Just in case anyone was wondering, these are the shoes i wore to Open House to meet all my newbies :)
