About Me

Hey Y'all! My name is Erin Warren and I live in the sweet state of Georgia. I love it here and I am not sure that I could function any farther north. Cold = the enemy! This year I am starting my 7th year teaching first grade. I have been in the same school all seven years, in the same room, teaching first grade and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my first year teaching an Advanced Content class, and I have found a whole new LOVE of teaching. These firsties keep me on my toes! They are constantly researching, questioning, and pushing my teaching further than it has ever been pushed, and I am thankful for it EVERY SINGLE DAY.

The last several years, I have been working on my education. I have my master's degree in Early Childhood Education. I also have my Gifted endorsement. I am currently working on my Education Specialist's Degree, ESOL endorsement, and Reading endorsement. (Can you say overworked?!?!)  Now you know why my blog isn't always updated! Ha!

I am a mommy to three animals. Can you say handful? I am a bit of an animal rescuer and one day I may need a farm.

When I am not working on school, you can find me crafting, planning events, or decorating. I plan my parties like I plan my lessons, a bit over the top and a lot adorable!

I spend my time with my favorite people, my family! They are the best support system. They are all involved in education in some way and have helped me become the educator I am today. You can tell we really like each other.

I believe that learning should be rigorous, creative, and engaging. I want my students to walk away understanding the concepts and overflowing with the knowledge I have taught them. Nothing is more powerful than seeing that spark when a student finally "gets it"! While I love teaching fun and entertaining lessons, you just can't beat good, old fashion EXPLORING! I always allow my students time to read, experiment, and research the concepts that are important to them.

Thank you for visiting my little blog, we're happy to have you!
